IT enabled services to reach remotest areas: CM Rawat

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has called for the need to provide latest Information Technology (IT) to the remote areas of the state. He said that there was a need to prepare Data Base Centres and to establish Common Service Centres (CSC) at Gram Panchyat level and use of Ballon technique in the state.

He instructed government officials to expedite in Union Government-run IT related projects or schemes in the state.

While reviewing the progress of IT departmentof the state , CM Rawat has instructed officials to ensure reach of IT facilities and government-run beneficiary projects or schemes to maximum villages of the state. He told officials to work to link beneficiary projects and schemes on different modes of IT. According to him, villagers would be among the main beneficiaries, if IT facility is easily accessible to Gram Panchyats of the state and educated unemployed youths could avail benefits with IT facility. “Maximum reach of IT facilities could be a milestone to set-up smart villages across the state,” he said, adding that IT facility would prove extremely conducive for spread of education, health and entertainment. According to him, present scenario is completely based on IT facilities, hence every government department should collectively work towards it.

CM Rawat has said that Aadhar kit should be provided to District Magistrates in order to facilitate making of Aadhar cards in the state. He instructed officials to coordinate with IT department in order to expedite government-run beneficiary schemes or projects across the state. He also called agreed to re-organise the IT department. According to him, transparency with qualitative work would be done with the maximum use of IT facilities in the government departments.

While giving power point presentation, ITDA Director Amit Sinha said that efforts were on to use of aerostate (balloon) facility in order to have best communication facility in the state. He said Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed with IIT, Mumbai. He said first trail was successfully conducted at Ahmednagar, while second trail would be done in Uttarakhand.

“A target to impart training to 5,06,000 residents under E-Literacy program under Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Literacy Abhiyaan has been targeted till March 2019,” he said, adding that 1,45,000 residents were given training so far. He said plans were in the pipeline to make IT friendly village Gheas in Chamoli district of the state. Sinha said efforts were already on to set-up Common Service Centre (CSC) in village Gheas till March 2018. He has said that All-In-One device “K-Yaan” would be provided to primary schools of villages Himni and Gheas soon. He has said experiments and research work would done through drones. Sinha has said that plans were in the pipeline to start NTROP centres till March 2018, and target has been made to set up Common Service Centre (CSC) in 7095 Gram Panchyats till the end of 2018 and 6226 Gram Panchyats had been provided CSC so far.

He has said that 131 e-district centres, 16 employment centres, 16 services in Pauri and 13 services across the state has been provided through 2160 established CSC across the state. He has said that video conferencing facilities would be started soon at Tehsil and Block levels till June 2018. Sinha said that Aadhar facility would be given to residents through Aadhar kit, which is going to be provided to government departments. He has said civilian facilities would be provided to residents through “Umang APP”, which was launched by Union Government and facility is likely to commence from April, 2018.
